About Prof. Alemán

Professor Pete Alemán is an award-winning educator with almost 30 years of experience in education, training, and administration. He has taught at community college and university levels as well as to corporate affiliate companies of the Center for the Application of Information Technology at Washington University in St. Louis. There he served as Senior Associate as well as Director, Bachelor of Systems and Data Processing degree program.

Mr. Alemán is an international trainer and speaker. He presented week-long seminars on project management, systems analysis and design, office automation, and course development to faculty and staff at the Universities of Beijing, Nanjing, Shanghai; and to the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China. Most recently, Mr. Alemán has presented “Introduction to Computer Aided Software Engineering” in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

While he was at Washington University he was invited annually to speak at the “Improving University Teaching Conference” (held in various locations around the world).

In Missouri, Mr. Alemán served as president of the Association of St. Louis Information Systems Trainers. In other states, he has consulted Wal-Mart Stores, Coors Brewery, Pacific Telephone, R.R. Donnelly & Sons, and Compuware.

In Nevada, Mr.Alemán has served as president of the Las Vegas Chapter of the Association of Systems Management. Locally, he has consulted Sierra Health Services, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, National REO Brokers Association, Nevada Real Estate Services, and the Las Vegas Latin Chamber of Commerce.

At CSN, Mr. Alemán has served as professor, department chair, and Dean – Information Technology and Academic Computing.
